Beyond the Occasion

Q: How and where is it made?

All our pieces are made in India through a fibre-to-finish process that begins in artisan communities and comes together at our workshop in New Delhi. We work closely with Kala Khoj in Kachchh—a producer-owned organisation with 250 artisan members—where textiles are made slowly and by hand, often within artisan homes. Our cotton garments use handspun, handwoven cotton with a significantly lower carbon footprint, dyed with plant-based colours , and finished using craft techniques like smocking, painting, and tie-dyeing. Our silk pieces are made using mulberry silk from Srinagar, Jammu & Kashmir. The entire process is rooted in care and generational skill, with a majority of our value chain led by women and many artisans under the age of 35. Every garment passes through many skilled hands, and you can learn more about the specific techniques in the “Meet the Makers” section on each product page.
